Christmas in the Commons

Saturday December 15th • 4:30P P.M. -7:30 P.M.
Tecumseh Commons • Shawnee (114-116 West Main Street)

Come celebrate the wonder of the season at the Tecumseh Commons. There will be a scavenger hunt in the Commons Park (adjacent to the Tecumseh Theater Building) at 4:30pm to “find the reason for the season.”  Then come into the Tecumseh Commons where we will have old-fashion Christmas games, caroling, cookies and hot chocolate. Also what Christmas would be complete with a visit from Old Saint Nick himself from 5:15 to 6:00 P.M.?  Finally we will have a small Christmas puppet show based on actual events from the area called “The Christmas Boots,” written by Dayton Willison.  A small donation of $3.00 is suggested, but not required.

This event is part of a seasonal series of events for area families at The Commons which kicked off in with a night of Ghost Stories in October, drawing approximately 60 persons.  The series is being organized by Willison, an Americorp/Serve America member who brings an extensive theater background to the position.  Dayton splits his time between Little Cities of Black Diamonds Council activities and programming at the Tecumseh Commons.   Dayton is an Americorp member with the Ohio History Corp which is sponsored by the Ohio Historical Society with local financial support for his position coming from Sunday Creek Associates.   For more information about helping sponsor the seasonal events at the Tecumseh Commons contact Willison at 740-394-3011 or e-mail him at willisondayton@gmail.com.
