Schenkel is a Marietta-based artist whose ties to the region include work as mural artist during the 1990’s, including the development of a children’s mural in Shawnee.   He is a member of a collaboration of artists from ReSolve Studios, located in the Historic Harmar District of Marietta. .   Victorian Brain Architecture is an interactive room-sized sculpture, which brings many iconic elements from the Victorian era together into a vibrant image for contemporary audiences. The exhibit makes a statement that resonates with the remnant towns of the area according to Schenkel. “From many remnant and cast aside pieces of architecture. one can make a beautiful new image, he stated. “Shawnee and the surrounding towns are a perfect example of this as they take their past and piece together for a positive future.”

The Victorian Brain will be on daily at the Tecumseh Commons from 11am to 2pm beginning Tuesday, April 27th through Saturday, May 2.

Thursday’s event is part of the Appalachian Spring series which travels to Nelsonville on Friday evening, for the second staging of “Little Cities Cantilever Theater” at 7pm from the second story porch of the Dew Hotel during Nelsonvilles Final Friday event. Also, on tap is the Little Cities Tour de Forest Beniefit Bicycle Ride on Saturday morning, May 2, with departures from Nelsonville’s Public Square.
